You also still have access to the Career Services Faculty Resource Toolkit in MS Teams – career-readiness videos, handouts/guides, presentations, activities, assignments, and other resources. The toolkit is in addition to the services already available for you such as classroom visits, assignments, events, employer connections for your program, and others.

Build Career Competencies/Professional Skills Into Your Courses (without changing your curriculum!)
Even coursework that isn’t focused on teaching a specific set of technical skills is still helping students develop valuable skills and abilities that will help them in their future careers – these professional skills are qualities that all employers are looking for, regardless of field.
Students often have a tough time understanding or articulating skills when it comes to writing their resumes or interviewing for jobs and internships. Without changing your curriculum, you can help students connect the dots between their work in your course and these professional skills. Use the NACE (National Association of Colleges & Employers) Career Competency Assessment Rubrics and other info in the Career Readiness Resources for Faculty Master Course in Blackboard, or in the Career Services Faculty Resource Toolkit (MS Teams version) to help students make these connections, or send your syllabus to get info specific to your course!

Career Exploration Resources
Career Services upgraded to a better career assessment for students – we are excited to offer students PathwayU! Based on interests, values, personality, and workplace preferences, it provides a more complete picture for students and connects them with occupational information directly from DOL/BLS. Students can use SSO to login and take the assessment at kckcc.pathwayu.com. You can also find career exploration activities and resources in the Career Readiness Resources for Faculty Master Course in Blackboard.
